This helmet throws out the rulebook for how products are usually made. With sharp, blocky geometry inspired by brutalist architecture, it’s a form that traditional molding just can’t handle. Most bicycle helmets on the market follow the same rounded, aerodynamic dome, but I ride a electric scooter in Brooklyn, NY. So I don’t worry about cutting through air, as long as it's cool.

Printed with SLS

Formlabs’ Nylon 12 powder provides the strength needed without adding bulk. Since the form is more blocky and solid than typical helmets, keeping it lightweight was essential for wearability. Traditional methods couldn’t achieve this, but SLS printing made the entire form possible in one piece.

For the inner cushion, I used a Voronoi lattice structure printed in TPU 90A on the Fuse 1+, maximizing breathability and minimizing weight.

Design Process

I had one thought: brutal. From sketch to CAD to print, the form took shape through iteration prototyping.
